Why Choose Us?

NURTURING LIFE-LONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH TRUST, INTEGRITY AND EMPOWERMENT:

At Merkel-Damer we are passionate about three things: trust, integrity, and empowerment. With these core values, our primary focus revolves around building and nurturing life-long relationships. Every question, process and decision are intertwined with these core beliefs – not only between ourselves and our clients but with each person we meet – regardless of whether or not our services are utilized.

YOUR “FINANCIAL DNA” – NOT SOMEONE ELSE’S

Everything we do at Merkel-Damer is specifically designed and customized to our clients’ specific needs, goals and desires. While we have specific techniques and processes in place to discover your “financial DNA” – no two strategies are exactly alike. That’s because we understand each client’s experiences and life history are unique. Additionally, we understand the need for flexibility when challenges and major life changes occur.

TRANSPARENCY & AUTHENTICITY

Typically, the investment planning process includes goal setting, data gathering, financial analysis, strategic focus, plan creation and execution. Our practice is advice-based and we are compensated accordingly. Our interests are closely aligned with yours; resulting in total transparency and authenticity. We combine many customized planning tools that allow us to tailor our efforts specifically to our clients’ needs. Wells Fargo Advisors provides us with a wide array of resources.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

A key differentiator at Merkel-Damer is our total dedication to certification and continuing education (CE). Our certificates and continuing education insure our ability to give you the most up-to-date advice. During the past three years, Ginger has averaged 125 hours per year and Maureen has averaged 109 hours per year of CE. Wells Fargo Advisors still has an annual requirement of 40 hours of CE.  The Insurance Department for the State of Indiana requires 24 hours of CE that can be acquired over a two year period which can include the five hours of CE needed for long term care insurance.  In order to keep the Certified Financial Planning (CFP®) certification, Ginger needs to have 30 hours of CE every two years and Maureen needs 16 hours of CE to keep her Charter Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation. Both Ginger and Maureen need 16 hours to keep their Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation.
